Before Tile Installation
To get ready for your new tile installation, start by removing all furniture, electronics, and hanging wall items from your rooms and closets receiving new flooring. Since tile can’t be installed over existing flooring, the current floors will need to be removed and disposed of entirely. Once your subfloor has been professionally assessed, and any necessary repairs are made to ensure a smooth surface, you are ready for new tile!
Tile Installation Process
On the day of your new tile installation, an adult will need to be home to answer questions for your installation crew. Designate an area in the home for the installers to keep dangerous tools, tiles before they are installed, mix grout, and cut tiles as needed. Keep all children and pets away from the installer’s work area and the rooms receiving new tile.
Enjoy Your New Tile
It's extremely important to wait the specified amount of time when installation is complete to ensure an even surface, then you can enjoy your new tile! When returning furniture to the rooms, always move pieces by lifting or using appropriate moving equipment with rollers. Never drag furniture across the tile surface and use felt protectors under heavy pieces to reduce impact. Use area rugs on your tile floors with area rug pads underneath for more protection.
