Tile Care & Maintenance

Routine Tile Care

Sweeping and dust-mopping are the biggest keys to your successful routine tile care. Use a soft bristle broom or dust mop and sweep the tike surface as frequently as you can on a weekly basis. This will remove harmful dirt, dust, debris, and pet dander particles before they become abrasive and scratch the floors. Consult your tile manufacturer's warranty before wet-mopping your floor, use as little water as needed, and ensure a dry surface afterward.

Tile Spills & Stains

When a spill does occur on your tile, there's no need to stress. Simply treat it in a timely manner by lifting any solid material gently with a spoon and paper towels, then begin blotting the spill with a dry clean cloth or paper towels. Start from the perimeter of the spill and blot towards the center of the spill. Use a gentle tile-specific cleaner to spot treat the area if needed. To clean any residual spill on grout work, you will need to use a grout-specific cleaner and grout brush.

Enjoying Your New Tile

We always recommend a number of preventative steps to enjoy your new tile. Arm all entranceways with mats and encourage guests to scrape footwear before entering the home. Have guests remove footwear by the door during inclement weather. Place area rugs with area rugs pads underneath to help protect the tile surface. Also, make sure to keep all pets brushed regularly and nails trimmed to prevent any scratches to your floors.
