Many luxury vinyl products offer floating installation, which saves time and money, and can be installed over existing flooring! This installation method means that the current floors will not need to be removed. Once your subfloor has been professionally assessed for the right installation method, and any needed repairs are made, you are ready for new floors!
Luxury Vinyl Installation Process
On the day of your new luxury vinyl installation, an adult will need to be home to answer questions for your installation crew. Designate an area in the home for the installers to keep dangerous tools, saws, luxury vinyl before it is installed, and saw planks to size as needed. Keep all children and pets away from the installer’s work area and the rooms receiving new luxury vinyl.
Enjoy Your New Luxury Vinyl
After you have waited the specified amount of time when installation is complete, it’s time to enjoy your new luxury vinyl! Many floating luxury vinyl floors are ready for light foot traffic immediately. If a floating floor has raised the flooring height, the bottom of your doors may need to be shaved down to restore full range of motion.
When returning furniture to the rooms, always move pieces by lifting or using appropriate moving equipment with rollers. Never drag furniture across the luxury vinyl surface and use felt protectors under heavy pieces to reduce impact. Consider placing area rugs on your luxury vinyl floors with area rug pads underneath to add more protection.
