Routine Laminate Care
Sweeping and dust-mopping are the biggest keys to your successful routine laminate care. Use a soft bristle broom or dust mop and sweep the laminate surface as frequently as you can on a weekly basis. This will remove harmful dirt, dust, debris, and pet dander particles before they become abrasive and scratch the floors. Consult your laminate manufacturer's warranty before wet-mopping your floor and use as little water as needed.
Laminate Spills & Stains
When a spill does occur on your laminate, there's no need to stress! Simply treat it in a timely manner to prevent moisture damage. Lift any solid material gently with a spoon and paper towels, then begin blotting the spill with a dry clean cloth or paper towels. Start from the perimeter of the spill and blot towards the center of the spill. Use a gentle laminate-specific cleaner to spot treat the area if needed and ensure the surface dries in a reasonable time period afterward.
Enjoying Your New Laminate
We always recommend a number of preventative steps to enjoy your new laminate. Arm all entranceways with mats and encourage guests to scrape footwear before entering the home. Have guests remove footwear by the door during inclement weather. Place area rugs with area rugs pads underneath to help protect the laminate surface. Also, make sure to keep all pets brushed regularly and nails trimmed to prevent any scratches to your floors.
